Ms. Wandy's PM 2 year olds!

This month has been very exciting!  We learned all about the letters M, N, O and P.  We made an owl, and octopus, and many other fun projects. 

 

The kids enjoyed making "Peewee Penguin" for letter P. They are getting really good at gluing projects together!

 

The students enjoy looking at books during class time. Since we were learning about Letter P this week, we read "If you Give a Pig and Pancake" and several other favorites.

 

 

 

We enjoyed the new fishing set that was in our sensory bin this week. We love taking

turns going fishing!

We are very busy in the 2 year old room.

We are always learning whether through our circle time, music, story adventures, activity games, projects or just learning how play nice with our friends. We LOVE our friends most of all!

Parent's Night Out is so fun!

Parent's Night Out is a special night when we open the school at night. Students do not need to be currently enrolled students to participate. Parents can rest easy knowing there is a safe & secure FUN place where their kids to go spend their evening and socialize with new friends. We also feed the kids dinner! That's a bonus...right?

There is always a lot of excitement in the air on Parent's Night Out! The kids LOVE coming to school at night when it's dark outside. They have fun coming in the pj's and bringing their pillow and sleeping bag. It is fun to see the parents come all dressed up and fancy for their night out on the town!

We had a super fun Parent's Night Out last Saturday. The kids stayed busy doing lots of activities &
arts & crafts. After a fun time with new friends, they settled in for "movie night".

We LOVED popping fresh popcorn with our NEW popcorn maker!!

If you need a night out WITHOUT THE KIDS, we host Parent's Night Out one Saturday per month from 5 - 9 pm at the preschool for ages 2 - 8. There are unique activities & crafts every time.

Space is limited & you must pre-register. We would love to see YOUR child(ren) at TotSpot next month for Parent's Night Out!

Welcome Back!

 Here in the Jungle Room AM we are diving straight in to learning!  We are doing many things each week.  Each week consists of 5 different learning, hand-on activities at each center: Art, Science, Language Arts and Math.  Each center is fun, but also enhances past and new skills that these students will need next year in Kindergarten!  Each lesson approaches their learning by way of experiences.  I feel that learning is done best when actually experiencing all the senses of the activity!  For example, for I week we did a lot of hand-on, experience related learning.  Below you will see them observing and drawing Insects (crickets!!)  They were even lucky enough to be able to bring one home as a pet! (sorry parents...)

 Here we are making ice cream by adding ingredients, ice and then SHAKING!!!  They all got a chance to shake some ice cream.  Then came the good part...

 

 EATING IT!  It was actually very good!

For Jj week we squeezed and poked and smashed fruits to make our very own JUICE!

We also made Drippy Jellyfish by loading our paper with lots of watercolor on the "bell" of the jellyfish, then lifting it up to make the tentacles!   We experimented with how much watercolors we needed to make it drip...what happened when it didn't drip down...what happened when we added more watercolors to the top...how the color changed when we added a different color.  All of these questions led to more fun finding out!!!

 Thanksgiving was so much fun! We came up with so many things that we were thankful for! 

 Our Christmas Celebration was really fun too!  It was Pajama Day and we all did fun activities in our Jammies!  We couldn't ask for a better time!
