Ms. Marta's AM 2's Class

Happy February to you all!

We had an awesome Valentine's Party in our classroom last week.
Hope yours was fun, too.

See below our Tuesday/Thursday class singing to parents!

We have also been having a good time in our classroom with a few changes in toys and decorations.  There are more science toys, and new soft play food, and you should step in a see all of our posters showing different cultures, kids expressions, examples of sharing, etc.  The kids seem to enjoy having new things on the wall to look at and of course new toys are always a hit!

Doing assessments with each of my kids individually while preparing for Parent Teacher Conferences a few weeks ago renewed my awe for the wonderful ZooPhonics Curriculum.  They really know their stuff and it is getting them so ready for their 3's class next year.  We just finished letter Ss this week and the kids loved their Sammy Snakes and Spiders!

Ms. Debbie's 3 year old AM classes

We had a lot of fun this week under the big top in the

Circus room!

We loved our music time with Ms. Sherri and she brought in her auto harp.  The children took turns playing the auto harp and they loved it!

On Thursday and Friday we celebrated Valentine's Day by decorating heart sugar cookies and drinking pink lemonade. We had  fun with heart projects. We also made heart hats which the children proudly wore.

We are really growing and learning in the Circus Room!

Learning Adventures in Ms. Dessie's Classes

The Jungle and Ocean Rooms are alive with learning.  We have been sailing through our alphabet a week at a time and have just finished Q.  Also, we have been starting our lowercase letters in handwriting. It is exciting because we have been focusing on our sight words for we have readers ready to go! Ask your student what are the Hard Workers (aka vowels) and the sounds that they can make because I think they could tell you:)

Recently, one very fun event we did for the letter P was to act out the story of the 3 Little Pigs.  We did several versions, each had cute little pigs and a Big, Bad Wolf (that really wasn't so bad).  The fun part was "huffing and puffing" and blowing the straw and stick houses down.  No luck on blowing down the brick house.

Another part of our class that we all look forward to is when Ms. Sherri comes in for music.  She brings the neatest instruments in for the students to play and will play her auto harp and guitar for them.  We love Ms. Sherri! Through our acting experience and music, I predict some actors and singers on a future stage! TotSpot has talent!

3 Little pigs too cute for words!
Even if this little piggy can not see, she played her part well!
"Not by the hair of my Chinny-Chin-chin!"
"Then I will huff and puff and blow your house down!"
We can't talk about the letter P without some popcorn popping!

Ms. Nicole's Pre-K Class

                Welcome to The Ranch!

This January was the very first month for our new classes in The Ranch room.  I have 9 amazing students who are having so much fun exploring our class and learning so many new things!

Each day is a new experience in Math, Language Arts, Science, Art and Social Studies.

Our class has been getting into the daily routine of reading the calendar, saying the Pledge of Allegiance and practicing our writing and pre-reading skills.   One of their favorite activities is using the learning apps on our Promethean Smart Board.  They can practice letter sounds, rhyming sounds and complete alphabet games on our "Letter of the Week" game.  What fun!

Meet Radar-he is our school pet who has been

spending time in our class

the last two weeks.

Howdy Ya’ll!  Here on the Ranch, we are having a fantastic time learning!

We love making new friends, exploring our classroom environment, and learning through play.

Each week we have art, math, science and language arts activities that center around our letter of the week.  So far, we have talked about N, O, P and Q.

Here are a few activities for N week - Neon Nights with neon paint, Nails, and Noodle Names.

P Week was all about pizzas, pets and our new Promethean Board!

Our class pet Radar, the Guinea Pig, is a favorite!

Q is for Quesadilla!  We made quesadillas and talked about how Q and U are best friends.  The best part was eating them!

We love coming to preschool and find new things to discover and learn everyday!

Ms. Gillian's PM 3's

Here we are at the start of February already, where is the time going??!!

We are still having lots of fun in the forest room while we learn :)  Since coming back from break we have covered some super fun units including Our 5 Senses, Dinosaurs and Down at the Pond.

The kiddos had a fun filled 2 weeks while doing our 5 Senses unit.  Our first week we had fun focusing on our sense of sight and taste.  During this week we made fun little telescopes which we used to go on a number hunt - the kids loved this.  They also made cute little self-portraits, each child looked in a mirror to check on eye color, color of hair... then drew their portraits :)  While working on our sense of taste we had a blast painting with marshmallows, gluing our favorite food plates as well as our tasty tidbit center which went down a treat, the kiddos loved sampling sweet, salty and sour foods - I'm sure you can guess almost every one's favorite!!!

The second week we finished our 5 senses unit focusing on our sense of smell, touch and hearing.  We made some 'scentsational' flowers.  We also had a scent guessing center and played with sweet scented play dough.  We used our sense hearing to distinguish between sounds and match sounds.  We also created quite a musical sensation with the musical instruments :) The kids also had fun with the syllables in each child's name using our rhythm sticks.  We created some texture turtles, played with gloop, as well as finger painting while talking about the texture of the paint :)

We are still working heavily on letter and number recognition.  As well as using out Handwriting Without Tears curriculum to help with writing each letter looking at which letters use curves and/or lines. We are also continuing to work on writing and recognizing our names.

As always we still love when Ms. Sherri comes for music time - one of our favorite times of the week :) Especially when the musical instruments come out too :)

Each one of these adorable little preschooler make me so proud every day :)
