Last blog for Ms. Debbie and Ms. Theresa's class

Since this is our last blog for this school year, I thought it would be fun to post pictures from the past several months that haven't been seen on the blog yet.  Here are pictures from donuts with dad, Spring celebration, farm week, Summer week, muffins with mom and other random pictures that I think are worth posting.

Donuts with dad.

The dads and the kids made big ties for dad to wear.

Spring celebration, decorating eggs and egg hunt

Planting grass seeds.
The children watered the seed everyday until we saw grass growing.

Farm week-painting with buttermilk, making "muddy pigs", and making our own butter.
 Shake, shake, shake!
 Yum! Homemade butter on crackers

Releasing butterflies.
Zoo week......making a mosaic bear, graphing with gummi bears and wearing silly monkey masks!

Muffins with mom....the children pampered their moms with a coconut/sugar scrub, lotion and filing their nails.  We performed The Pledge of Allegiance, sang "Gray Squirrel", and a song for moms.
It was a fun afternoon with the moms!

During our Summer theme week, we made sun art, ate watermelon and made a popsicle craft.

During circle time, one of their favorite things to do is use the wood pieces to a song called "Tap, Tap, Tap".

Working on our shapes and writing practice.

We hope you enjoyed these fun pictures.  It has been a pleasure to be with this group of children this school year.  We will miss all of them!  We hope you all have a fun, safe summer and we look forward to seeing you again,
Love, Ms. Debbie and Ms. Theresa

We love Spring! Ms Laree and Ms Gillian's 3's class

Our theme a few weeks back was all about flowers and plants.  We learned about the life cycle of a plant and what the plant needs to grow.  We studied the different parts of a plant as well.  We made a sticky table with contact paper.  The kids were able to create their own flowers complete with seeds and roots.
Just the other day I made a picture of a flower (just the petals) and I asked the kids what else it needed. Two of the students said it needed seeds and roots.  I loved that they remembered what we had talked about.

We talked about the different parts of a plant/flower.  The students had all the parts and used them to build a flower.

Fun with art creating yellow sunflowers!

Beautiful centerpiece for the table!

These kids all worked together to build this alphabet puzzle.  Teamwork!

Handprint tulips! The kids all giggle when we paint their hands!

Here we have tulip math.  The kids worked on number order.

In science we planted grass seed.  Everyone helped sprinkle in seeds.  We watered it everyday.  Last week it had grown so tall we were able to take turns cutting it with scissors!!

These kids have grown so much this year! I am so grateful for the opportunity to have been their teacher.  They will all be superstars in pre-k next year! (:

Fun in the Ocean Room with Mrs. Gretchen & Mrs. Amanda

What a SUPER fun time we have been having while learning in the Ocean room!

Taking a look back at February, one of our favorite units was the transportation unit! We had fun pretending to be on a train and even made conductor hats. We also loved matching numbers with cars and trucks and made paper airplanes!

Of course, we always love holiday parties in our classroom! Here's a few pictures from our class Valentines party.

We practiced writing our very own Valentines cards.

The students always love to see what is in our sensory bins each week and they were surprised to see it full of hearts and love this week as they got to practice their fine motor skills while using scissors to practice cutting the hearts out.

The students really loved our Monster unit. The Monster slime was one of their favorites! Most of the kids loved the slimy, gooey texture.

We even did some Monster Art!

I can't believe we are already in the last quarter of school. My students have grown and learned so much this school year. They will definitely be ready for pre-k next year!
